She born in a middle-class Kerala family, which is originated from Kozhikode Kerala, they are four in the family, Herself, Mother, Father and one elder sister. Nikhila Mother is a dancer and her father is a Retired Government Employee.

Nikhila Vimal was born and brought up in Kerala. Her family had close ties with Malayalam film director Sathyan Anthikkad and that paved way in Malayalam films. She made her full-fledged acting debut with the Malayalam film titled Love 24×7 in 2015. This film was a huge hit and she got noticed from there. The following year, she made her Tamil film debut with the film called Vetrivel. She has also acted in some Telugu films such as Meda Meeda Abbayi, and Gayatri.
