She was Born in Trivandrum, She was born on 2 February 1989. she loved dance. She studied at Sishu Griha Montessori and High School. Her graduation was completed from Christ University at Bangalore. She holds a Bachelor degree in Business Management. Since her young age, she was a trained Bharatanatyam dancer. During her college day, she started modeling.
She started her career as a dancer in movies. Her film debut was through Malayalam movies. After, she became active in Kannada and Tamil movies. With back to back hit movies, she got more movie offers. She was actively part of various South Indian movies.
She debuted in the 2012 Malayalam film Cinema Company. Her first break into the Kannada cinema industry came with the film Lucia and then was followed up by her lead performance in Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu. She received critical acclaim and recognition for her work in both these films. In 2016, Sruthi Hariharan founded a production house, Kalathmika.
The main ideology behind Kalathmika’s inception is to create art that can drive change. The production house is based out of Bengaluru and is currently in the works to produce its (tentative) first feature film Tesla. Two short films Rita and The Last Kannadiga have been produced so far. Both films have an underlying tone that addresses social issues. Like every other big name in the industry, even Sruthi had her trials set for acting since her college days. During her BBM course in Christ College, she opted to be a core member of the cultural team of our college. Cultural activities amused her from the very beginning and thus later she went on to even join Theatres. From her school days in Sishu Griha Monetsorri and high school, she got the finest training for her Bharatnatyam and Contemporary dance skills. She always knew she would be a great dancer. With such astonishing dancing moves, she was evoked to join it as a full-time profession but her father spilled the beans and rejected her dream. But as we know, big dreams never settle down for anything less and so didn’t hers.
Her dream followed her to be a part of the Imraan Sardariya’s dance troop. Her journey in the film industry began for her from a background dancer to being a part of the Malayalam movie: Cinema Company. The actress had some great reviews for her debut and went on to grab 2 more Malayalam projects. Seeing her talent with extreme efficiency she became a part of the Kannada movie Lucia. The movie made her play 2 roles under the same script and she powered them both gracefully. She received rant reviews for her Kannada movie Dayvare.
Beautified with not so many awards as her career has just started in 2012, she recently grabbed the best actress award in the State film awards-2016.Finding her way in the industry still, currently, she is single and concentrating on the various upcoming projects she has been offered.
