Islamabad: The Pakistan government is contemplating to initiate a sedition case against former prime minister Imran Khan and the chief ministers of Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The government has made up its mind to launch a sedition case against Imran Khan for plotting to attack the federation during a protest here last month. Earlier, allegations of blasphemy have been leveled against Imran Khan in the slogan-shouting case against Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif in Medina. In such a situation, Imran Khan, who is preparing for the revolution against the government, seems to be caught in the legal clutches.

Pakistan’s Interior Minister discussed
The issue of sedition charges against Imran Khan and others in the aftermath of their independence march was discussed at a meeting of the Special Cabinet Committee chaired by Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan on Thursday. After his independence march, there was violence and sabotage at many places in the capital Islamabad.

Violence took place during Imran Khan’s freedom march
This march was taken out on 25 March with the aim of putting pressure on the government for early elections. Although it did not succeed in its objective, during this time there were clashes between the protesters and the police at many places. The government is considering options for appropriate action against Khan and others for causing damage to government properties.
