Nahyan was 73 years old. Since November 3, 2004, Sheikh Khalifa was the President of the UAE and the Ruler of Abu Dhabi. India also mourned his death. State mourning declared in India
India on Saturday declared a day of state mourning on the death of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. In a letter issued to all the states and union territories, the Union Home Ministry said that in honor of the late UAE President, the Government of India has decided that there will be a full day of state mourning on May 14. During this, the Indian flag will remain half-masted.
