NASA took out samples from the moon after 50 years from the freezer, know the whole matter

The US space agency NASA collected samples from the surface of the Moon 50 years ago. As NASA is once again preparing for its Moon mission, scientists have started studying samples taken from the surface of the Moon after 50 years. Astronauts returned from the Moon with samples under the Apollo 17 mission in the month of December in 1972. These samples were kept in a freezer. The process of transporting these samples from NASA’s Johnson Space Center to Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland has not been easy. It took scientists four years to do this.

Scientists have begun designing and retrofitting a facility to process frozen Apollo 17 samples. He has adopted a new approach and believes it can be implemented in future Moon missions. This research is part of the Apollo Next Generation Sample Analysis Program (ANGSA).

NASA’s Julie Mitchell is leading this project. She says that we started this in early 2018 and had to go through a lot of technical difficulties. We saw this as testing to create a facility for cold sample processing in the future.

Michel said that this project will not only help the Artemis program, but will also ease the issue of bringing samples in the future. Actually, NASA is preparing to bring samples from Mars in the coming years. Currently, NASA’s rover is working to collect samples on Mars.

According to the people working on this research, there is something special in these samples of the lunar surface, which have not been analyzed in almost five decades. Amino acids were detected in some samples from the Moon, which are essential for life on Earth. Obviously this study will be of great help to NASA’s next Moon mission. She wants to send humans once again to the Moon under her Artemis mission and this time to prepare a permanent setup there.
