You will get white and delicious jaggery in the market, but as soon as the heat comes, the jaggery turns black and starts spoiling. In such a situation, some people who buy jaggery or sugar for a year do not know the right way to store jaggery. In summer, jaggery starts melting and fungus starts coming. However, if you store jaggery in the right way, then it does not spoil for a year. Let us know how to save jaggery from spoiling in summer. What is the way to store jaggery for a whole year.
1- Store in zip lock bag- If you want the jaggery to last for 1 to 2 years and retain its taste and color, then store it in a zip lock bag. While storing the jaggery, keep in mind that there is no air in the zip lock. For this, wrap the jaggery in a paper towel and then put it in a zip lock bag. If you do not have a zip lock bag, you can also store it in a simple plastic bag. After packing the jaggery in polythene, keep it in an airtight container. This will not spoil the jaggery for many years.
2- Store in the fridge- You can also keep jaggery in the fridge. For this, you have to take a steel box instead of plastic and fill the jaggery in it. If you keep it in a plastic box, then the jaggery can get spoiled. The color and taste of jaggery will also remain in the steel box. In this way, the jaggery will not spoil for about 6 months. Yes, you have to take care that there is no air or any kind of moisture in the jaggery.
3- Store in dry leaves- To keep the jaggery from spoiling for a long time, you can use dona made from dry leaves. For this, keep both of them in a box below. Now put jaggery on it and then cover both the sides and close the lid of the jaggery box. If you store jaggery in this way, then it will not spoil for 6 months.
