A police spokesman said on Saturday that Section 144 is already in force in Islamabad and gatherings have been banned. Islamabad Police in its tweet said, “In view of the possible return of PTI Chairman Imran Khan to Bani Gala, security has been tightened around the residential complex and a high alert has been declared.” However, till now Islamabad Police has not received any concrete news from Imran Khan’s team about his return.
Tight security deployed outside Bani Gala
Police said in a tweet, ‘Special security has been deployed at Bani Gala. The list of people present at the Bani Gala is yet to be provided to the police. Section 144 is in force in Islamabad and no gathering is allowed as per the order of the District Magistrate. “Islamabad Police will provide full security to Imran Khan as per law and also expects cooperation from Imran Khan’s security teams,” the police said.
‘Attack on Imran means attack on Pakistan’
Imran Khan’s nephew Hassan Niazi said that if anything happens to the chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, it will be considered an attack on Pakistan. Earlier, Fawad Chaudhry had said that Imran can return to Islamabad on Sunday. In April, Chowdhary had claimed that a conspiracy had been hatched to kill Imran Khan. According to Pakistani newspaper Dawn, Fawad Chaudhry had said, “After these reports, the security of the Pakistani PM has been tightened.”
‘Was advised to use bulletproof glass’
PTI leader Faisal Wawada had also claimed that there was a conspiracy to kill Imran Khan as he refused to “sell the country”. He said Khan has been advised to stay under bulletproof glass during his rallies at Islamabad Parade Ground. But as usual he says that my death will come when Allah wills. Please don’t worry.
