Delhi Traffic Police first sends the E-Challan notice to your phone number. Then you have to go to the website of the traffic police. Here after entering the number of the vehicle, OTP comes on your mobile, after entering which your notice opens. If this challan is wrong, then you can put your side by going to the option of ‘Grievance’.
Traffic Police also gives you many options. If the challan has come by mistake then you have to click on the picture of the vehicle and enter it. If found correct, your invoice is cancelled. Also, if someone else was driving the vehicle, then you can transfer this challan in his name also.
Hearing in virtual court
Delhi Police gives 2 months time after sending the E-Challan Notice. If you do not pay the fine amount, it is transferred to the virtual court. Here the hearing is held within the prescribed limit in the court and the fine amount is reduced. If you think that this invoice is still high, then you can present your case. The challan to present the case is transferred to the regular court after the virtual court. Remember, once the challan is transferred to the regular court, it cannot be presented in the Lok Adalat also.
