Battery related problems are constantly coming to the fore in electric two wheelers. The latest case has come to light from Ramadugu mandal of Karimnagar district of Telangana. Here while charging an electric two wheeler it exploded. Thankfully no one was injured in this incident. Police said the incident took place on Sunday night in Ramchandrapur village, when the owner of the electric vehicle kept the two wheeler outside his house to charge, when its battery suddenly exploded. After the explosion, some part of the vehicle got burnt. The police have said that they have not received any complaint in this matter so far.

Last month, an 80-year-old man was killed and three of his family members were burnt in a similar incident. The incident came to light in Nizamabad district, where the battery of an electric scooter exploded inside a house.

After the incidents of fire in electric two wheelers, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had asked companies to recall all defective vehicles. These incidents have come to the fore a few days later. Recently, in the Raisina Dialogues, the Union Minister had said that security is the top priority for the government and there can be no compromise with human life. Gadkari had also said that the temperature rises in March-April-May, then there is some problem with the EV battery. He also cited temperature as a problem on fires in electric two wheelers.

He had said that the government wants to popularize electric vehicles. According to Gadkari, the EV industry has just begun. We don’t want to create any hurdle, but security is the top priority for the government and there can be no compromise with human life.

Last week, he had said that negligent companies would be punished and an order to recall all defective vehicles would be given after the report of an expert panel. It is noteworthy that a committee has been formed to investigate the matter. The matter came into limelight after the Ola Electric scooter caught fire. The video of Ola Electric’s burning scooter went viral on social media.
