Apple Employees Salary Hike: Concerned over attempts to unionize its retail stores, Apple is reportedly increasing the hourly salaries of its retail and corporate employees. The Wall Street Journal reported that Apple is increasing the hourly wage rate for retail employees from $20 to $22 an hour.

Tech giant company increased salary amid pressure to increase union
It has also been told in the report that amidst rising inflation and pressure to form unions, the tech giant is increasing the starting salary of the employees. The iPhone maker told employees in an email that the company is increasing its budget for full compensation.

Apple increased the compensation budget
An Apple spokesperson said in a statement to the Wall Street Journal that supporting and retaining the best team members in the world enables us to deliver the best, most innovative, products and services for our customers. As part of our annual performance review process this year, we are increasing our compensation budget.”

Apple made another increase after the recent hike
There are plans to unionize three of Apple’s stores – one each in New York, Maryland and Georgia in the US. While the Apple Store in Georgia will vote on June 2, Apple’s retail stores in Maryland will vote on June 15 to unionize. To date, no Apple Store has successfully unionized. Apple recently increased profits for both temporary and permanent retail employees.
