Telecom companies not happy with TRAI’s decision
According to media reports, the Airtel company is not satisfied with the base price of 5G by the telecom regulator. Talking in this matter, Gopal Vitthal said- ‘The industry expected that the prices would be drastically reduced. Though the prices have come down but it is not enough and in that sense it is quite disappointing. Let us tell you that some telecom operators are not happy with the decision of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). These companies are trying to reduce the reverse price of 5G by 90 percent.
The CEO of the company said, hope the public will bear
Vitthal said that ‘I think this year we may see some tariff increase. I still think the tariff is still low at that level.’ Vitthal also said that he is hopeful that the customers have the ability to bear this shock. He acknowledged that the new price hike is only a temporary setback. Let us tell you that despite the increase in prices last year, the popularity of Airtel has not decreased. Airtel added about 50 lakh customers in the month of March. Before this, three million people were joining Airtel continuously for three months.
Airtel started last year also
Last year, all three private telecom operators – Airtel, Reliance Jio and Vodafone-Idea had increased prices by 18-25 percent. Airtel had first decided to increase the pre-paid plans by 18-25 percent in November 2021. After this Idea also decided to increase its tariff charge in the same range. At the same time, Reliance Jio had increased the prices of its pre-paid plans by 20 percent in this case. Reliance Jio has not yet disclosed in this matter whether they are going to increase the tariff plan this year or not.
