India’s leading telecom company Airtel is providing 1GB complimentary high-speed data as a voucher to a special segment of its prepaid users. This free data is being claimed to be given to those customers who have a smart plan. It has been told in the report that the telecom giant is sending text messages to its users to inform that free data vouchers have been added to their accounts. This information has come to the fore a few days after Airtel and Reliance Jio are looking to jointly buy pan India 5G spectrum.

Supplementary data will be available

According to a report by OnlyTech, the high-speed data is being offered complimentary in the form of vouchers, which can be claimed by going to the ‘Coupons’ section in the Airtel Thanks app. The report states that the high-speed data is available for 3 days and if it is not claimed, it will automatically expire on June 1. Apart from this, the customers who have done free data cum recharge are usually given on a smart pack of Rs 99. Once users make a claim, the voucher will be added to the Airtel account balance of the users within 15 minutes.

Airtel to partner with Jio to buy 5G spectrum

This news comes a few days after a report said that Airtel is in a position to buy 5G spectrum across India. The telecom company has also seen a double jump in its consolidated net profit to Rs 2,008 crore for the March quarter. During this, the net profit has increased by 759 crores in the year-ago period.

There has been a tremendous increase in the userbase of Airtel

Earlier this month, a report by telecom regulator TRAI said that Airtel has added subscribers along with Jio. After that, in March 2022, the total telecom user base increased to more than 116.69 crores. Airtel’s net mobile customer addition in March was 22.55 lakh.
